ANATOMY OF THE MIND (VICTOR)

What makes us humans?

What is it that you feel when you feel I?

We suffer from a terrible, universal affliction –

the “not being able to stop thinking”

Can the mind think about not thinking?

Can we desire not to desire?

The Promethean Archetype

What and Why is Victor?

He is the Promethean Archetype: an archetypal revolutionary who helps transform the human condition from one at the mercy of outside forces to one that is master of its own destiny.

Victor creates a monster out of his own selfish reason and ends up disowning it because he did not turn out the way he had planned.

Victor means winner or conqueror in Latin, and it is also one of the earliest Christian names.

The Shadow Archetype

The basic theory behind Jung's shadow archetype is that everyone’s perceptions of themselves that forms their identity inevitably gives rise to qualities their opposites within themselves which they must suppress.

One of the most common shadow’s fears that nearly everybody’s shadow contains is the fear of death and it makes a lot of sense that fear would be the antithesis of both the maker and his creation. We are constantly trying to cheat death, and we only find peace when we accept death.

Also, a big part of our motivation is to preserve ourselves in one way or another.

Mind vs. Matter

Everything that exists in the world and that we can see and measure with our tools—the data of our sensorial connection with reality—is made of material stuff.

But what about feelings, subjective manifestations of our consciousness, such as love or the sensation of seeing blue?
